With a key leadership role in the Telstra Marketing team, you can make a real difference to one of Australia’s biggest brands and use creativity to drive growth to help achieve Telstra’s T25 strategy.
What is the focus of the role?
Partnering with the CMO to drive Telstra’s creative ambition, the role is accountable for creative leadership for the Telstra brand. This a hugely influential role requiring partnership, collaboration and expert advisory skills, working with stakeholders from across the business and external agency partners.
What you’ll do
- In simple terms, you will help make the creative work better.
- Lead the Creative Excellence Program of work that aims to raise creative capability across the Marketing Chapter through inspiration, training and frameworks.
- Personally lead focused creative initiatives designed to raise Telstra’s creative reputation.
- Partner with marketing peers on other creative initiatives, raising the level of briefing, creative feedback and production craft.
- Provide strategic planning capability, with strategic input on projects to improve creative problem solving, communications strategy and quality of briefs
- Work closely with our agency partners to build strong and trusting relationships and raise the quality of the creative output.
- Lead Telstra’s creative and effectiveness awards strategy and annual process.
- Reporting to the CMO, you will contribute to the strategic direction of marketing at Telstra, as a key member of the Marketing Leadership Team.
- Lead with an engaging and aspirational vision aligned to Telstra's strategy to provide clarity on both the how (expected behaviours) and what (priority activity) for your team.
- Ensure we maintain our compelling brand identity in the market and ensure adherence to brand policy, guidelines, and established business processes.
What you need to succeed
- Proven experience in leadership and execution of marketing campaigns, raising creative standards, and developing capabilities in the areas of creative strategy and production craft.
- Proven experience in leadership and people management skills especially with virtual teaming.
- Strong stakeholder management, able to advise and consult with stakeholders in complex organizations and on complex product categories.
- Strong external working relationships with creative agencies and production partners.
- Brand-led marketer with proven big brand experience.
- Proven track record of leading and creating highly effective marketing programs.
- Ideally, you’ve worked in both a creative agency and client-side marketing team, even more ideally you have personally led award-winning creative work.
