Duties:
- Assist with the daily care and maintenance of animals in the kennel
- Clean kennels, cages, and other animal living areas
- Feed and water animals according to their specific dietary needs
- Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff
- Exercise and provide enrichment activities for animals
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any concerns to supervisory staff
- Assist with grooming and bathing of animals as needed
- Assist with intake and discharge procedures for animals entering or leaving the kennel
- Provide basic customer service to clients, including answering questions and providing information about animal care
Skills:
- Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Physical stamina and ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds)
- Basic knowledge of animal behavior and care
